ColdFusion 10 Update 14 with Java 8

With ColdFusion 10 update 14 that has been released on 14 October 2014, Java 8 is supported. Few of the advancements that are being made in this new update are as follows:

  • Tomcat upgrade to 7.0.54
  • Tomcat connector upgrade to 1.2.40
  • JDK 8 is supported
  • Apache HTTP server 2.4.x (up to 2.4.9) is being supported
  • Fixes for issued that are being mentioned in the security bulletin APSB14-23
  • Other crucial bug fixes in Net Protocols, AJAX, Databases and other areas

ColdFusion 10 developers making use of its web services has to make an attempt for manual one-time alternation.

Moreover, ColdFusion 10 Experts are suggested to copy tools.jar manually from the {JDK8_Home}/lib to {cf_install_home}/cfusion/lib/. In case failed to made an attempt, all the web services of ColdFusion will be unsuccessful.

Here an individual is recommended not to install JDK, where the ColdFusion has  already been installed. In the machines where CF is installed you can just have jre 8 and tools.jar from other devices where JDK has been already installed.

Furthermore, a ColdFusion 10 expert is also requested to clear all the previous stubs from {cf_install_home}/cfusion/stubs/, inorder to get all the fresh compiled classes.

At first CF 10 was shipped with jre 1.6 and now with the support of the earlier one the concerned professionals of Adobe has released tools.jar of jdk 1.6.

Has anyone made an attempt to use CF with Java? If made an attempt and failed to proceed further. You can take the support of Etisbew’s ColdFusion Developers for further assistance.
